Having just bought a used R5 to complement my existing R5, I bought another EF-RF adapter. Consider me gobsmacked when I read the registration card benefits:
- Telephone support*
- E-mail support*
- Product protection*
- Receive information on new products and promotions*
...
*These benefits valid in the US only.
This item was bought in Canada from a major retailer and the card makes several references to it being for Canon USA and Canon Canada. So my questions are:
1. Anybody know why Canadians are not afforded the above benefits?
2. What is "product protection"?
3. Putting aside that these benefits are FORMALLY only valid in the US, has anybody in Canada had occasion to contact Canon Canada and were you able to get one/multiple/all of these benefits without cost?
I know that Canada is not a big market to Canon, but man, the hits keep coming. A few weeks ago I posted about how Canon USA refurbished products are not available to those of us in the Great White North and that an agent from Canon Canada support confirmed they have NEVER had a refurbed R5 available for sale to the Canadian market. Those refurbished R5 bodies had a sweet price and warranty so it was frustrating that it wasn't available to me.
