With the Lake Fire burning in Santa Barbara County, thought I'd share a capture from earlier this summer of some of the beautiful lands currently impacted by this event.

Great photo! I hiked up there just a few months ago. Is Grass mountain on fire?

Voted!
Like CA we in AZ desperately need the rain as well. Supposed to pick up next week according to forecasts.

Thanks!
Sadly Grass Mountain is on fire - still an active incident so yet to see how much area is impacted.

Things appear to be winding down as of today, but winds could come up and change that. Unfortunately much of the south facing side of the San Rafael Mountains has been burned. Much of our favorite wildflower area along Figueroa Mountain Road has been burned, including most of the face of Grass Mountain. It will be interesting to see what next spring looks like.

Great to see the progress they are making on the fire (thanks to heroic efforts of many). Sad to see such a beautiful place burn, hoping the restoration and renewal process treat it well.
