Has anyone tried it?
https://www.blackdiamondequipment.com/en_GB/product/betalight-45-backpack/ it's rated 40 lbs capacity circa 18kg

I'm interested in a light setup to carry a 500f4 II + r5 attached +24-105l and 100-400 II + monopod and ground pod. It will be just for day drips, light hikes.
My current setup is a F-stop gear lotus, with XL pro ICU + Gitzo GT3533S + Jobu gimbal, which is not great.

Essentially I want to reduce the weight and be able to take the 500 in and out with the camera mounted. I'm also considering the https://uk.shimodadesigns.com/core-unit-xxl-dv/ or make my own custom padding.

not a design i would use for carrying the things you have in mind.
-limited access
-limited support structure
it is designed for go light gear and a minimalist methodology. unfortunately, camera hardware doesn't fit that category too well

i recently got a Mystery Ranch Bridger 45L which has substantial access (both front and top load) and allows various configurations of "containers" and other things to carry. it has a harness/frame structure for load bearing

it can also compress down well when doing other things with it.
