I have a legal copy of lightroom 6 on my older computer I just bought a new computer and I'd really like to move it to the new one.
Problem: Wife threw the paperwork away and I need the serial number.....is it embedded anywhere in the copy of LR 6 that I have running:

did you create an adobe account when you loaded it in your computer?

If you have it running on your old computer, look under Help > System Info. However, now that you have a new computer it might be a good time to subscribe to Lightroom. The latest versions have so much more to offer than LR 6.

if he was to do so i'd advise him to go with PS rather than LR (after all they come together). not a fan of the LR catalog system.

I do have an account with adobe and Lightroom 6 used to be out there for me to download but it’s been gone for a while now

i really think that you are no longer doing yourself any service by hanging on to v6. things have moved forward current version is 13.4. i personally still prefer PS as it generally more usable. and thats up to 25.9

As far as I know it would be a hustle to install LR6 to new computer released in the last couple years (probably due to new computer system, not IT people here). If you would like to go through the hustle, you could try to contact adobe with your proof of purchase to see if they can retrieve your series #.

I still have an older Windows 7 box that runs an older version of Lightroom in order to interface with my large format printers whose drivers do not work on later windows versions. I use a Mac Studio to do my processing and use the windows box only for printing.
