p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · More moody processing?

The wedding company I contract for wants me to offer (in addition to my typcial vibrant style), a more modern, moody option.

Without starting from scratch, I was wondering if there are specific LR settings (or a tutorial) to acheive a good starting point to match this style.

Those kind of look more natural to me than 'moody' - usually moody means way underexposed. This looks like nice skin tones. Probably shooting a little underexposed and then bumping shadows.

one moody style is to use curves and raise the black and bring down the highlights.
You can add a press look after if you want.

another would be expose the image for skin tones and bring everything else down.
An example would be a bride next to window in another wise dark room.
Think instead of even lighting across the frame... how would you highlight the subject with flash (hypathicaly) and drop everything else. I would use a radial gradient or some variation.
easy to do in the 4th image. include a muted color pallet and bam. Done.

You could consider a Capture One preset. I find the add on's to work very well for different looks that people actually prefer.

I had one group request all of her images in a preset I would had never considered before.
