The above, plus PayPal has been freezing my money for extra time on G&S transactions from FM, stating they "need more information about my business." It's not a business... sigh.

This is just reporting. It doesn't create a tax liability unless you make money on the transaction. You simply report the net income (gain or loss) from all transactions. It's not that big of a deal. I know I won't buy something without the protection, and I know others won't as well, so likely making the market less liquid for the items for sale and probably will have to accept lower price as seller.
