Spring has flowers, fall has foliage colors, winter has snow. But summer seems to only have green, and the desert is too hot. Do you have some favorite summer landscape photography destinations in the world to recommend? I've been to Iceland and Banff in summer, which were great.

Glacier National Park, Mount Rainier National Park have incredible wildflowers in late July to first week of August. Only pain is sunrise is too early and sunset too late 😀. And then perfect season for Astro to make it for a perfectly sleepless vacation.

The flowers around MRNP are strong in August. Definitely worth a trip. Washington/Oregon/CA coast is also good.

Peak flower season on Mt. Rainier is anywhere from July to September, depending on the yea. The Pacific coast from San Diego to Neah Bay is good in the summer, nice and cool, albeit the weather conditions are not always conducive to photography and the sunrise and sunset times can make for a brutal day. The high ridges of the Sierra Nevada, Mt. Washington, and Colorado among others become accessible to non-expert hikers in the summer. Never been to Montana/Idaho/Dakotas but I suspect that they are very nice in the summer, mozzies notwithstanding. And then there is the entire Southern Hemisphere and the Far North. It can be snowing in the Far North in late August

As others have stated, summer brings wildflowers to the mountains, opens up trail access to peaks, and is prime time for milky way photography. It's also winter in the southern hemisphere, so if it's snow you want, you could always head to Australia or New Zealand or Chile or Patagonia. Also a good time to visit Alaska. There's also Greenland, Norway, Faroe Islands. One other thing off the top of my head, Northern California gets the marine layer and fog, which make the redwoods nice and atmospheric.

Summer is monsoon season in the southwest US. Doesn't get much better for landscapes!

Tons of driving, high temperatures and heavy bug load though... IMO there are more pleasant ways to do landscapes.

Glacier National Park (or many of the US National Parks) in the summertime is fabulous!

If you go to Glacier make sure you also head north to Waterton Peace Park. Well worth the trip to see the location James J. Hill (railroad magnate) used for the Prince of Wales Hotel as a destination for folks traveling his railroad in the 1920's.

It's even better when you know what you're doing with landscapes.

These were taken many, many years ago in Glacier National Park when I had no clue what I was doing:
