I went the other way. Canon's RF 70-200's went on a big diet and now extend out at 200mm so they're light and tiny in your bag (retracted to 70mm).
We have both the 2.8 and 4, both do exactly as you'd expect. The ƒ4, sitting at 70mm (lens hood reversed) is the same size as my 35L prime!!! I shoot with Big White a lot these days - not as much as the 85 1.2 or 135L but it's such a bread-and-butter lens.
FWIW, I think the image standout is the Nikkor Z 2.8 - unreal sharpess and contrast for zoom. It's not that the Canon is bad, but as for IQ they haven't moved (to my eyes) beyond the legacy models.
I can't speak to the new G-Master as both of our Sony shooters have the Tamron 70-180, which is another great and tiny lens.
