A rare and gorgeous view of the desert sky illuminated by last night's aurora! I was able to see reds & greens naked eye.
Images taken 1hr Las Vegas, NV.

I like the catcus close-up, creative idea to use the aurora as the background rather than the subject.

Thank you! I did not have my light panel with me that I normally use for light painting, so I used just my headlamp. I expected mediocre results, but am pleased with how it turned out given the circumstances!

Thanks! The green/yellow on the horizon are more aurora. There was reds/pinks & greens last night.

Great stuff Kyle. Was this Friday night or Saturday night? I felt it was too cloudy Friday and went to bed to be ready for my early tee time on Saturday. Saturday night I was out at Red Rock from 10:30pm to 1am with no luck.

Those were Friday night. The picture attached in this response is Saturday. I was out on Friday between a little before midnight to 1am. Saturday was not that good, with only a brief display just before 10pm that lasted only a few minutes naked eye. The camera saw it for about 20min.

Thanks Kyle. Lessons learned for me. Keep a closer eye on the sky during these events. Everything I could fine to read said the peak on Saturday would be after 10:30pm.....Thanks for sharing your successes.
