We’ve had the biggest solar flare in 20 years, X3.9. Contrary to what early reports say, we’re seeing it as south as AZ with confirmed photos within Phoenix. Also there are 5 waves coming so it should last a few days.

Update- I captured some in my backyard. To the naked eye, the sky has a purple hue to it but the camera reveals more, getting some greens and reds. Peak is 11-2am!

WILL BE VISIBLE THROUGHT 80% OF USA, if not all.

From my yard last night, 45 minutes north of the Okefenokee Swamp.

You said peak was 11-2, is there some place to see forecasts for when the various CME are expected to hit?

There are a bunch of technical factors that work into it (go to SpaceWeather.com and look at all the different types of data), and it's difficult to nail down to a single hour, for example. Aurora watching requires patience (esp. at mid-latitudes), and even if you sit there watching for 4 hours and think it is winding down, it could flare up within minutes of you hopping in your car and driving. You just never know what you are going to get, the results are infinitely variable, and can look quite different from different locations.
