Bags, sometimes I feel like women, never enough and never the right one, long ago I managed to get a Domke F3 here in Italy and I gotta say it was the best bag ever, plenty of space for such a small bag, durable and nice rugged looks, had to throw it away, I live on an island and take my stuff on an open boat in summer so nothing lasts forever...

Got a Retrospective 20, nice bag but not for everyday use or short journeys, big, it can fit a 70-200 lens mounted on a pro body but I don't like the depth of the bag, looks like a box; got also the 7L one, dunno if something changed in the production but quality doesn't look nor feel the same, good for a small kit but not enough to fit a 13" laptop in case of a short trip.

Was almost sold on the Wotancraft but after watching a few videos I found out I don't like the fabric it is made of, I don't want anything shiny or screaming camera bag, I need space for a camera with a mid sized prime lens attached and to store two more lens and a 13" MacBookAir in a pocket and eventual tools or paperwork, something practical and with a touch of elegance but no leather or Louis Vuitton like stuff, anything to suggest?

Check out tenba, they sell a variety of inserts compartments for other bags/backpacks and also sell a lightweight bag for the insert. A bit boxy but good protection. Tenba has been around a long time and makes quality bags. I ordered direct from Tenba and noticed the shipping was very high. I called them and they reduces the shipping to $15.00. Good people there.

Another Domke bag? Though fitting a laptop might be a problem with many of those other than the messenger styles. Or just a courier/messenger bag with a photo insert?

What camera? Gripped? What specific lenses?

Hello,

you know what, the Retrospective 20 has been washed once and it shows it was, I mean some thin rust on the metal hinges but the new one, the 7L never got wet yet and already grew oxidation, they are no cheap at all but I am not satisfied with quality.

I was looking at the PeakDesign to have something smarter but, hey, that's as expensive as a Gucci bag!!!

I won't mind another Domke but I'd like something different at this point since I have already two Retrospective ones and they are quite similar both in the shape (boxy) and fabrics even tho I gotta admit the F3 still has a place in my heart

I will check the Temba but if I recall them correct they are classic photo bags, as said above I'd like something a little smarter for when I go out for a few days but still fitting as hand luggage

Get a vanquest envoy 13 and put a shimoda small insert. Amazing looking and a very well made bag ! I've tried several messenger bags and nothing comes close !
