Nice capture of the artist in her space.

I think the color is off, guessing some mixed lighting going on to make it tricky. Might give it a ride in monochrome to see how you like it. I realize that will make some of the colors (i.e. artist palette) will go away, but the attention to the person might be improved without the skewed color in play.

This picture brings back some memories of the good old 1980s Polaroid days.
If that is an intentional look you are going for, it works for me.

If that is not the case, then you need to do some serious color correction working on the raw file. You may want also to think about straightening the photo as the top part of the photo looks a bit diverging

Either way it is a fine image that shows the artist, relaxed and smiling, in her working environment, and that, as posted, imparts a kind of nostalgic mood.

In terms of story telling, I see the apron, brush, paint and palette, but no canvas. The omission gives me a feeling of incompleteness or off-balance.

I did a quick fix for the color. I think the color fix is better but still off.

IMO a tighter crop still leaves "environment" but puts more emphasis on the portrait aspect.

Finally, rather than have the subject looking at the camera, I would have preferred seeing her in action, painting, mixing colors, or pretty much anything else but staring at the camera.

Took a stab at some tweaks for the color.

It's very hard to correct the colors using a web sized image, especially in this case. Probably needs some heavy adjustments to get the right colors, and we can only guess what the real colors are.

I went heavy with the color correction and even though I might have reduced the color casts I am still not sure about the colors itself.

Environmental portraits are tough.

I agree with others the color is way off, unless the intent was that coloration. If it was, I don't find it a flattering choice for skin tones.

Socrate's color correction looks the best of the attempts.

I agree with CamperJim that a tighter crop seems to feel a bit better for this particular scenario.

Cheers!
