I feel your grief! Such is capitalism! I like to sell/buy to/from users not resellers..So I go out of my way to accommodate that versus making a profit or even breaking even.
Sorry you and other "northern brothers" have to endure that.

No I am sorry I am not. I am still "stuck" in the dslr mode!
B&S has morphed into a sellers market. The days of selling to someone who wants to just upgrade to a newer model are just about over.
It has become a "profit only" market. Not that this is bad...just sayin'!

Be patient if you can. I have learned over 20+ years on FM that what I want usually comes along at some point!

I've used MPB for used lens no issues with the "like new" rating.

Haha, not that you need another reply!! But…FM is my first go to if I wanted to check what is a good going price for used gear. Then Facebook Marketplace/Craigslist but also specific Buy/Sell Facebook groups. Recently found Reddit B/S group as well though have yet to use it.

eBay for me because I *love* auctions. It's absolutely NO fun to buy and sell without bidding. My A1, R5 and R7 are currently listed there. I always start from $1. I sold on FM a couple of Canon's big whites to some nice dude though.

I have been checking quite a number of sites with regularity for a used R5 and it is apparent that FM is the best bet to get one in good condition for a good price and, if the seller is selected with care, the least amount of concern about condition or issues with the seller. The biggest drawback to FM for me, as a Canadian, is the unwillingness of many sellers to sell outside the US.

With regards to that last point, can anybody comment on whether that is strictly to do with hassles selling cross border (shipping, customs, duties, etc) or are there other reason(s) for this? If that is the only reason, I could buy one of those cameras, have it shipped to Mike's Parcel Service in Pembina, ND and do the 90 minute drive to pick it up. We have found that there are a number of items that we like but can't buy in Canada (or the price is ridiculous compared to in the US) but the US companies won't ship to Canada or, if they do, they want $40 or $50US for "shipping and handling" (even when they ship for free in the US), so we do make use of this service from time to time as it is.
