Hey guys, I dropped my policy through State Farm years ago because no one ever asked for it until today. Does anyone out there sell one day property insurance for photographers for one day/event?

You might want to re-up your State Farm policy. Feels like half of the venues want a certification now — particularly ones tied to any city, state or gov agency.

Nothing is more frustrating than dealing with venues that require this stuff. Maybe once every couple of years somebody will ask me for something. At this point I'd rather just not shoot anything there.

Cannot imagine accepting payment for services and not having insurance.

Yeah, not being insured is awfully short-sighted. Twice in my career I have been burglarized and had to replace basically my entire kit. Without insurance I could not have possibly continued my business. Have never needed the liability coverage but we are all just one lawsuit away from needing that…

It is not property insurance but liability insurance with a rider that specifically covers the event location.

Just applied for an annual use permit for City of Boulder open spaces. Certificate of policy naming the city is required (has been for several years).

Not sure how you can shoot with any volume without a liability policy.

You should have both liability (Venue) and theft coverage. Join a pro association that provides both at a pretty decent discount.
