p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Birding on Canon R5 - considering switching to Nikon Z

I use Canon R5, 500mm f/4 (EF version 1, use it adapted), and a Sigma 150-600. While this setup works fine, I find the 500 f/4 heavy and the Sigma not the fastest focusing lens. Today I priced a similar setup on Nikon Z8 and while it's just a couple thousand dollars more, I'd be in the latest tech with native lenses (and no adapters). The setup would also be a little lighter. The Canon 500 f/4 is 8 lbs!

I'm curious if others have switched from Canon R* cameras to Nikon for birding/wildlife. If so, what was your scenario and how do you like the Nikon Z setup?

Since you are interested in Nikon Z I would post this in the Nikon forum where it's more likely to be seen by folks who switched. This isn't one of the more active threads.

The logical forum to post it one would be the Canon Forum and cross-post to the Nikon Forum.
