Iíve got a Z8, 50mm 1.8, 24-120, 105 macro and 100-400 (just arrived yesterday.

Iíve got a 6L peak defense for my smaller camera (just sold to have some cash, the 100-400 and focus on the z8).

Iíve got a Nomadic 8L for the Z8 with 24-120, 2 batteries, cloth, and card reader. If I try I can put the z8 with 50 attached and 24-120 or 105 standing up but man itís tight. For carrying in the work van or in town with just a single lens the Nomadic does the trick. It will only fit the 100-400 by itself with no camera lol.

Anyway, besides whatís in the nomadic, the other lenses sit in a cloth bin piled up. Not good. Iím curious about 1 maybe 2 products;

Something that will hold a bunch of lense and maybe a camera or 2 for storage in my bedroom when Iím not using them

Something thatíll fit the 100-400 on camera, and/or z8 with a 24-120 and a couple others, maybe a small tripod.

Peak design cube came up. McKinnon back pack. Couple others. I do t want cheaply but I also donít want super expensive stuff. Itís not necessary.

I may be shooting some surfing this spring and would like something I can bring the 100-400 and 24-120 with the Z8 as well as storing my stuff.

I use the peak design wrist strap. Iíd be I treated in something for if Iím using the 100-400 more.

If you want a backpack, I really like my MindShift Backlight 18L, which would likely fit all of those items, though with really not much to spare. The larger 26L should easily fit everything you own, and probably another lens or two and there's plenty of storage to fit incidentals.

I use a Think Tank Retrospective 30 v2 for my daily carry (shoulder bag), and it fits my Z8 with four lenses (14-24/2.8, 24-120/4, 70-180/2.8 and a prime is pretty typical, and can fit pretty much any four of my lenses, plus batteries, filters, etc.

Here's my Backlight 18L with Nikon gear (here's the 24-120 on my Zf, but my Z8 fits in that spot easily as well, the 14-24/2.8 with filter hood attached, 70-180/2.8 and the 24-200, which I was testing out that week.

I'm a big fan of the Shimoda backpacks. They all have ICUs (internal core units) which allows flexibility when traveling via air. If for some reason they hassle you about bag size, you just pop out the ICU and carry it on no problem.

Here's a Shimoda 35L with a Peak Design Large V1 ICU (the Peak Design ICU's are larger than Shimoda):

1x Z8
2x Z6
1x Nikon Z 24-120 F4
1x Nikon Z 100-400 F4.5 - F5.6
2x Sony 14mm F1.8
1x Sigma 14mm F1.4

and it all fit perfectly for international travel standards to Iceland.

they also have a 25L if you want something more compact

I like that. Shimoda comes like that ready to go? No added inserts to buy?

depends on who and where you buy from.

my preference is to buy the bags naked (no inserts) and then purchase peak design ICU's separately because I find them superior to the Shimoda ones

also Shimoda usually sells them with like small and medium size. I don't know if I've ever seen one with a large size.

Peak Design is having a sale on their v1 ICU's right now before they discontinue them - so it's a great time to make the swap!

The setup is pretty expensive, but worth every penny. If you had asked this question a bit earlier, I had a few extra 35L bags I was selling for more than 50% off

https://www.peakdesign.com/products/camera-cube-v1?variant=11530961715244

$72 vs the usual $90 for the ICU

In case anyone else out there is reading this, the Shimoda Action 35 will also accommodate a F-Stop Gear Small Pro ICU or a Large Pro ICU. Pretty cool trick considering the Shimoda SLR cores are basically unobtainium these days.
