I doubt there is an aperture ring on it. Seems like your manual control is the ISO dial.

And yes, that looks to be a flash, erm, slit.

Would be cool if the film type dial had an impact on auto exposure, with tendency to overexpose negative film while trying to preserve highlights when set to slide film. But I’m 99% sure it will be purely cosmetic.

Manual controls should be on the two dials just like on the original shouldn’t they? The angle of the picture just hides the top of the dials where the font for aperture and shutter speed settings would be. But the body still has the arrows indicating what’s been set.

If they add an auto setting to both dials they’d cover PSAM. Maybe also wishful thinking on my end

Yeah it looks like that film type dial is just a cosmetic reminder, paying homage to film cameras of yore that had it. Those tended to not have built in light meters. The two important things that we do not yet know are if it has exposure override, and if it has the ability to manual focus.

So they're only showing DIN numbers on the exposure dial? The range is 12 - 36, which would be ISO 12 - 3200.

DIN would be a decidedly weird choice over ISO, since ISO has been the standard for ages now. I assumed it was the exposure counter, though given the small size I would hope it allows for going over 36 exposures per roll.

Well, on the original Rollei 35 that was the film speed dial, marked in both DIN and ASA. The frame counter was on the bottom.

If you look at those two circular dials, it seems they both have dual functions. On the front we see an arrow pointing to the film type and exposure counter (?) - but we also see at the 12 o'clock position on the camera body another marker. Perhaps pointing to what is being set on the rim of those dials.

Looks like it could be a fun camera, spoiled by being a real PITA to load.

There are images out there that show there are markings on the rims, likely aperture and shutter speed.

So it is Auto only but has a very easy to use compensation dial. That is good!

I missed that on my RIP Fuji Klasse W - and that did not have a manual mode either. But it did have an aperture priority mode (which I never used). The Rollei AF - unclear if there is one - maybe the other dial has aperture settings?
It seems there is no manual focus override. But I assume you can focus lock like with most p&S cameras.

No-one cares about this new Rollei? Think what tiny Mint have done.

Compared to Pentax who are huge and AFAIK have not revealed anything about their new film cameras, apart from a dood in a flat cap talking about how film is cool. I mean he's right about that but we all already know that!

Haha, sorry to leave you all by yourself here. I think it's a very smart concept because so many of these rangefinder film bodies, aside from modern Leicas, are compromised without mercury batteries and their frustratingly short-lived zinc replacements. I think it would be awesome if they made a 50mm version as well!

Really the only thing else I would want to see on this camera is a double exposure option

Hmm, we now know the rim of the left dial is used for exposure compensation. But no news yet on the right dial. Perhaps to manually set focus? That would be great.

I'm guessing aperture perhaps? It looks like it has the same release lever below the dial as the original.
