I am not good at skiing myself, and considering the status of my knees it is not a good idea anyway. But I had a good time with the camera last weekend.

Great b&w contrasts here. Great creativity here for the skiers!

Thanks Dan. I like the high contrast and the lack of texture in the snow. Even at a reduced brightness there is absolutely no texture to be seen in most of these images. The skiers will never see them, unfortunately.

I love the starkness of these. Very graphic. From someone who was obsessed with back country and telemark skiing for many years and now living with stainless steel knees, seeing these makes me miss it all the more.

I am glad you like them. I am not much of a skier myself, and the last time I tried I broke a tooth.

Steel knees are also my future ...

Just make sure they're stainless, cuz, you know, rusty knees would really suck. Actually, I was surprised to find out they were not titanium and were in fact stainless. They do indeed set off metal detectors but all I've ever had to do was point down and say "metal knees" and they waived me through.

Very interesting set and unique featuring dogs. Well done. As an older, avid skier I have never seen this on the slopes before.

Thanks. I was standing there with my camera for one hour, and every third or fourth skier was accompanied by a dog. Maybe it is a Norwegian habit. The larger, athletic dogs were clearly enjoying themselves, but I am not sure about the smaller ones.

We used to take a 90 lb. German Shepherd/Swiss Mountain Dog mix back country skiing all the time. The dog just loved the snow and loved to chase me on moderate downhill sections. The area where we were skiing, about 90 miles north of Los Angeles, at about 8500 feet in elevation was always teeming with dogs chasing their humans. The dogs with the biggest feet always did the best in the snow, but if it was icy, you had to watch for bloody pads on the dog's feet.
