I was just curious if anyone has used or seen this device? It looks intriguing and looks like it would be nice I'm sure that there are other similar devices. It just looks like it would be interesting to take in place of a tripod.

I tried to search for this and couldn't find anything about it.

I've seen them, online. I would probably trip over my feet, and wish I wasn't wearing it.

AS sjms noted, it is a variation on a flag holder, which is what I have used. It worked OK for me but does become a little cumbersome when trying to maneuver through thick brush. Currently using a monopod with the Wimberley MonoGimbal head as an alternative, which works better for me.

Go to the B&H website and search for ‘stabilizer’. Then refine your search criteria.

well this place isn't exactly the encyclopedia of everything photographic. i will tell you that many moons ago a variation was bounced around here but that was a long time back. might have been version 1 of what you have there.

There was a guy on FM named Lee I believe that had his camera and 200-600 on a monopod and used, at the time, a simple carpenters tape measure pouch that he placed the monopod in for stability.

I use a version of an upper body rock climbing harness.
A search for Sitka chest harness will show an example of what I mean, but there are many variations.

The foot of the monopod goes into a PVC pipe end cap which is on the end of a cord loop.
The weight is on your shoulders, just like the chest baby carriers that you see with very young kids.
Works like a charm. You can put one together for around fifty bucks.
