I used a Vello battery grip on a 5D Mark III back in the day. Never had a problem with it. That price is actually 1/5 the cost for a new Canon version. I'd be more likely to use a third party grip than third party batteries on my camera.
I used this one on the r5 without issue, scroll wheels and button are not quite as nice as the genuine canon grip but it works no issue. However on the r6 mark ii, the grip would work but would not charge both batteries, it would always stop after charging one.
don't you think you should be on the Canon thread where there might be users there who can give a better POV? its irrelevant that it is a 3rd party version. it is canon specific.
I had a Nikon grip fail. They wanted 3 times the price of 3rd party to fix it. Have used 3rd party for several years no problems. Neewer, Vello, Meike are all good. Been using Wasabi batteries with no problems over several years.

Actually, it is specifically relevant that I am asking about a 3rd party grip.
a 3rd party grip for a specific brand camera model. asking in that specific brand cameras forum will most likely yield a better set of answers. just saying.
