I tried to use a tiffen red #25 filter with my m10-r jpeg setting set to record monochrome and encountered crazy files (yes i know the red is much more intense than orange or yellow filters). They were super blocked up even when I purposely over exposed beyond what a red #25 filter would require on film.
When I called leica and told them I wanted to do as little post processing as possible and would rather achieve as much in camera as possible they basically told me that color filters do not work with digital leicas because of how it interferes with the sensor.. i was blow away.
I regularly used color filters on Nikon and Canon digital bodies.
I believe it wa Brian Roy @ Leica corporate in New Jersey that relayed the info to me

Color filters won’t work on digital color bodies-it will just add noise and make everything look worse. They only work on film with black and white or monochrome sensors like I used.
