Not that I really need any at the moment....but....I was poking around looking for other things and inadvertently discovered that everywhere I looked, 5'x18' rolls of Savage Translum have been discontinued.

It seems that all weights of this size material has been axed. I can't imagine why! Any ideas?

Is there a similar alternative product available?

Savage website still lists it: https://savageuniversal.com/us-en/translum-heavyweight-sa-554-config/

Also, I've got a 24x36 open frame that has diffusion on it, it's fantastic, and I think it's either Velum or tracing film that I got at Blick Art Supply.

I use the medium weight in a couple of different sizes of knife frames and occasionally just hanging from what's left on the roll. I was going to put together another smaller size knife frame but that would use up much of what I have left on the roll, hence the search for another roll.

B&H lists it as out of stock as well as discontinued. Everyplace else I checked pretty much said the same thing. I didn't look on the savage site.....that would have been too easy.

I did, however, just look and they don't list the medium weight at all. Only 54"x18' light weight and 60"x18' heavy weight. Not a huge deal I suppose, but I kinda liked the medium weight.

Velum was the other name I couldn't think of.

There are many flavors and densities of diffusion in the Rosco catalog. I use Cinegel Tough Rolux, in stock at B&H:

Their largest rolls are generally 4'
