I ended up purchasing one as well! I traded in my Leica 28mm f/1.4 Summilux for it. That's how highly I rate it...strongly recommended.

I would have loved if CV had essentially mimicked and slightly shrunk the 35 Lux ASPH for the 35/1.5 like they did with the 28 Lux (CV 28/1.5) and 35 Lux pre-asph (CV 35/1.4) and 50 Lux (CV 50/1.2).

You nailed it! However, I consider the CV 35/2 Ultron as a mini-35 Lux ASPH for its resolution, contrast and similar rendering.

Also similar optical designs: Leica 50/1 Noct (CV 50/1.1) and Zeiss 21/4.5 Biogon (CV 21/4).

I like how compact the lens is compared to the Leica, yet it delivers similar results. Soon, I'll develop three rolls I shot with my MP and share some pictures here.

Thanks for convincing me not to sell the MP! Instead, I sold my M2 and M4. The MP is the film camera I'm keeping for good.

Yes, you and I are very much in agreement on the CV 35/2–been using it since launch! But the CV 35/2 doesn’t quite have the micro contact and gorgeous colors of the 35 Lux ASPH (or the 1.4!) even though it’s a contrast-y lens

Aside from the draw, love the bite and color of the files at 1.4–if you’re going to shoot modern glass—may as well embrace it

I have a lot of film Ms, but the MP is the high water mark. That is the keeper.

True, the 28 cron and ultron as also similar in resolution and rendering! You could shoot with Voigt lenses, and the pictures wouldn't look much different from shooting with just Leicas, for the lenses we mentioned! I found the Voigtlander 28/2.8 Color-Skopar had a bit more character in the rendering compared to the Leica Elmarit though.
