p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Winter wonderland - Haines Alaska after the storm

Last November, I found myself in the Chilkat river bed in the middle of a blizzard, and it was delightful. As the storm stopped and the sky cleared up, the beauty of the winter landscape revealed itself. I had taken only my 400mm with me and left the 100-500 in the car, and I did my best to take these "test" shots to come back and take better ones the next day. Well, the weather decided to turn to 50 degrees and fog moved in. This year, I have been chasing yesterday's shots, while sometimes frustrating, it has been incredibly gratifying as well.

Some nice compositions here, I envy your trip and surroundings, even with uncooperative weather.

I don't envy you the task of trying to keep whites from blocking up without going too far the other direction and turning snow into an 18% gray. I'm sure it's quite the balancing act. Curious about your approach. Are you shooting RAW with any exposure compensation or...?

Thanks Eric; Uncooperative weather is becoming my fav kind of weather
I do shoot raw and full manual, setting ISO, Aperture and shutter speed manually and adjusting it as light/conditions change.
