p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Morganza and Brant late in the day

The Red-breasted Merganser is the fastest duck and flies at about 85 MPH (137 KPH) so there is very little time to photograph them in flight. Brant Geese are much slower at about 65 MPH (105 KPH) yet slower than the typical duck's 50 MPH (80 KPH) flight. It is smaller than a Canada Goose, a bird many confuse it with. All of these photos were taken on a lovely afternoon at the Jamaica Bay National Wildlife Refuge here in New York City.

Comments and suggestions welcome,

Morris

The educational commentary is much appreciated and does add value to the post Morris, very cool.

I have to admit, I prefer the side/bottom lit up shot #2 over the silhouette's, which are great as an occasional treat but not my favorite everyday shot.

Thank you Eric,

It's helpful to known what is working and what is not.
