p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Sony a9 vs Sony a9 ii for wedding photography???

I was with canon for over 20 years, in 2019 went with two Sony a7iii. (Sold both during Covid)
This question is about Sony only and to be specific the a9 and a9 ii, the a9iii and a1 are out of the budget at this time, the a7r models have to big of files for what I need, still they are great cameras.

Got a Sony a9 in 2020 and loved it. In 2021 closed business due to Covid, but I still use my camera for fun.

I am planning coming back in 2024 for weddings and sweet 15 photography (not video)

Since I am planning on a second Sony a9 , is there much difference to justify a Sony a9 ii?

Thanks and happy holidays everyone.

The biggest difference for me is the A9ii has anti-flicker with the mechanical shutter, which is a huge deal for me. The e-shutter on the A9 I would still get flicker at certain venues which made life pretty challenging at times. Secondary differences are the ergonomics. I like the controller feel a little bit better. Otherwise, they're pretty similar AF wise and IQ wise.

I have one of each. ergonomics on the a9ii are a little better. There are some good youtube videos that compare all of the differences but basically the quality is the same. If you can find a a9ii for a good price, I would say go for it.
