I've never heard of anyone switching to Nikon just to be able to use Sony lenses.
I fail to get your point sorry.
We have many examples of photographers on this very forum who were able to add a Zf/Z8/Z9 to their existing Sony lenses line up thanks to the availability of the Megadap and Fotodiox adapters.
They didn't switch to Nikon just to be able to use Sony lenses, but the availability of adapters makes this move a lot easier than otherwise. It's the difference between a vague intent vs an actual purchase. And it's not about switching, it's about the possibility to use 2 systems in parallel with limited cost impacts. Nothing short of a game changer for photographers not locked into a brand mindset and able to assess objectively the respective value of each brand offering. At least between Nikon and Sony. Canon is of course out of the game.
And again, Sony mirrorless is as successful as it is today because it was easy for Canon users to use their EF lenses. This is beyond discussion, it's a clearly established historical fact.
And now the same possibility opens up for APS-C where existing Fuji users have the possibility to leverage their excellent lenses with whatever bodies Nikon may decide to release next in 2024, and I believe that there are exciting things coming. Indeed, realistically speaking, Fuji's is the only brand with a credible APS-C lenses line up and having access to those available cheap second hand will also open great opportunities for Nikon APS-C body users.
Cheers,
Bernard
