I stopped by Bolsa Chica Wetlands this past Sunday afternoon after a long time. My main purpose was to test my new Sony A7RV. My 600mm f/4 is with Sony Pro for Clean and Check. So I had to take my 200-600mm instead.

I only had a couple of hours there and I was pleasantly surprised to spot 5 raptors within that short span of time. Unfortunately they didn't give me any chance for any good action/flight shots during my stay. So I came back with only a few portrait frames. And even then, since they were all perched quite far, I had to do large crops for these frames (even with 1.4x at 840mm) and so the image quality leaves much to be desired. Still I was so excited to find all 5 raptors that I am going to share these frames anyway, and hope you like them...

I have actually had the 200-600mm lens for a couple of years now, and it has served me pretty well... This Bald Eagle frame is from March 2022. It was the camera (Sony A7RV) which was new to me...

That is a nice set Kambiz. Sometimes we have to settle for what we can get. Any day out in nature is a good day. Excellent eagle fishing image

Top drawer images in this set, very well done especially that first image. I have the 200-600mm, you're going to love it.

Yes Morris, the main point is indeed being out in the nature...

And yes Louie, I have had 200-600mm for a couple of years now, and for the price, it performs fantastically, even with 1.4x TC, when there is enough light for its smaller max aperture.

Who could complain about that set of portraits, Kambiz. Most exquisite. And that fish snatch in the last one is not too bad. To me, going out for a shoot is like getting on the river to fly fish. It's more about the experience than the reward. In your case. these portraits quite a reward.
