I could very happily live with a a7RV + 40/2.5 as a street and travel photography kit. You are losing a bit of light gathering capabilities and that f/1.4 subject isolation, but that doesn't bother me for most usecases.

a7RV + 40/2.5 G" sounds remarkable. Does this actually happen in real life?

Absolutely no idea why this is considered remarkable. Ever heard of Cartier-Bresson with his 50 Elmar and Summicron?
