The concept of a mixed bag M + Q has an allure to it.
I've got a Q2, M246 (mono) and M10R presently in my arsenal. The Q2 was my first entry, and it is my least used. So, I'm looking to maybe retool things a bit, also.
I think it comes down to not so much about the gear, itself. Rather, how does your mind work to categorize things. Me, in my pre-Leica days, I typically had "one for go, one for slow". I still kinda think that way, but with the advent of the monochrome, now it has things like "one for color, one for mono". And with the Q2 in the picture it is "one for MF, and one for AF" or "one for wide (or macro)" and "one for telephoto".
My point is that ANY of the cameras can serve a purpose well, but I'd pretend that you have a clean slate ... and ask yourself what is that you would want TWO bodies for? How much overlap vs. gap / difference do you want in those two bodies? Do you want them to complement each other, or do you want to maximize their differences?
That said, I'd ask the question of what glass do you shoot mostly on your M10M or your M10? If you got rid of your M10 and ONLY had your M10M ... what would you feel it lacks? Color is obvious, AF is possible, lens choices wouldn't be a big issue.
With the Q/2/3 ... it provides color and AF, but lens options are now down to the 28mm. Which, imo, the Q2 lens crops down EXTREMELY WELL to 35mm equivalent, REALLY GOOD to the 50mm equiv, and (that's about where I draw my line), adequate to the 75mm equiv.
So (imo) if your needs are largely in the 28-50 range for color / AF, the Q2 / Q3 are pretty safe. I'd imagine the Q3 extends that 75mm crop from adequate to pretty good, too (just a guess).
So, if you are good with giving up the color of the M10 for the color in the Q as mostly an even swap, then the trade-off is the obvious ILC vs. fixed lens. Handling is a bit diff with the Q, as it is EVF vs. RF, but it still is a very nice camera.
Battery life is a bit different in the Q, too. But, with the Q3 ... charging will likely be a nice plus.
Could I roll with the M246 and Q2 combo. could ... but, I'd miss the ILC of the M10R. Specifically, when I shoot landscape, where I often use a longer lens for compression, or just those things I can't get close enough to (my 75/2.4 or 135/3.4) Cropping for FOV would be an option, but then I'm giving up pixels (in landscape) to limit print size.
I think the M10M + Q3 is a good combo ... BUT, you have to understand what it restricts you from. Essentially, that would be tele / color. If you don't have a need for tele / color combination, then you're golden.

this is a great write up, you totally hit the nail on the head! i think what i'd be giving up has been my main concern. i'd get AF which is nice for ease of use, and color for wider angle shots. on my M i shoot like 99% of the time with the 35mm, and my secondary lens is the 75mm. so if i were to crop the Q3 to 75 i think it'd be pushing maybe too far, but i dont think i use that lens enough for it to become much of a problem for me…honestly i think anything that i'd like to shoot with the 75 in color is gonna be fine to just shoot wider, mostly it is car photos haha
