I spent yesterday morning in the Skagit Flats area. Once the fog burned off I was surprised to get a kingfisher. Though they aren't uncommon here, having one sit awhile and pose is.
This male northern harrier spent about a half hour hunting back and forth putting on a nice show. Females are quite common but the "grey ghost" males are much less inclined to come out for photographers. While it was exciting to watch and photograph, he uncooperatively kept his back to me except when he was too far out of range. 650 butt shots
