Iím planning to go on a trip soon, and I've decided to pair my M11M with the A7CR. My lenses will include the 35 SR reissue, 50 ASPH V2, along with the Techart pro adapter, Sigma 90, and probably a 16-35 GM.

Good idea to pair Leica M with Sony E-mount both with full-frame! I used my Sony A7R in parallel with my first Leica M for multiple years. Just make sure all lenses work well with the Sony sensor. I am no longer following in detail the newer Sony E-mount camera development, but in the past the Leica 50/2.0 ASPH version I lens did not work well at all on the A7R. Possible that this is no longer an issue with the newer version II of this lens and the A7CR sensor.

When I first got my M I thought I would need to carry an AF camera with me, but now that I've had it for a bit I don't generally find it necessary. Exceptions might be if I know I'll need a longer focal length or a macro lens, but my last trip I just took the M and didn't feel any worse off for it.

If you do need an AF body, Sony has great AF and IQ to match the Leicas. Ricoh GR series are downright tiny and easy to carry. M4/3 (Olympus/Panasonic) have some wonderfully small AF primes with good AF and great IBIS.

I'd take my pick based on size vs IQ priorities, but I personally find the IQ on basically any modern camera to be sufficient.

Yes agree and to me two bodies and multiple lenses way to much stuff.

A good piece on keeping it simple. I find it to be so right on.
