I tried for northern lights last night, but left to early.
There was some minor color most of the night. I left at 12:30 am, should have stayed through the night.
At 5-6:00 am, people were getting some great photos.

a7CR, Sony 24-105.

Nice to see that 17-28 being f2.8 could capture the stars really well. What was the exposure time/ISO?

Well, I screwed up.
I used the Sony 24-105 for this photo, not the Tammy 17-28.

But, for the 24-105 the settings were 15 seconds, f4, iso 1600.

I'll edit that other post.

I don't really have much to share yet except for some snaps in the rain and around the house. But, I will say that I am very impressed with this little body. I bought the silver one and it looks really nice too. My last Sony model which I still have is an a7rIII I did own an a7c for a spell but couldn't stand the EVF. It is remarkable how advanced the bodies have become.
The EVF seems so much better now, not bad at all really and honestly with the wheel and the amazing AF, it's hard to even tell that I'm missing the joystick. Did I mention the AF, wow.
If it ever stops raining I'll try to post some actual samples, in the mean time, since this is a sample thread.

Nice A7Cr pictures in your Flickr. How is the viewfinder when photographing moving subjects?

A month with the camera now, and I'm extremely pleased. It just does the job, with no fuss.

For two weeks with the family in France, I took the A7CR, the 20-70mm and the Sigma 35mm ƒ2, in the very tiny Tenba BYOB 9 bag. It was a joy. (Had a 12mm and 90mm in my suitcase but never took them out.)

I've had no problems using the EVF with moving subjects.

Thanks.
I've only had the camera for a week, and I haven't really had an opportunity to shoot moving subjects.

Although I dislike having the viewfinder to the side, so far I've been able to deal with it.
Looking though it, no problems.

I have been thinking of adding a Batis 25 for a while now. I can't seem to make up my mind between it, 24GM, and 24G since this FL will be the least used one. Haha.

I have the FE 24/1.4 GM and Batis 25/2 but haven’t put them on the A7CR. Also have the Sigma I-Series 24/2 DG DN which I intended to use for its smaller size but agree the others are not that much bigger.

I'm slowly carrying on with getting familiar with the A7CR body, this time with the FE 20-70/4 lens.

From a brief local walk this morning, below is the only image that I find worth posting, and only then as a generic scene, and to confirm that the lens works as it should on the body. Which it seems to do.

Please note that the image is edited to taste, including some pushing of reds and blues in particular. But it still shows some potential of this body / lens combination. No sharpening was applied, with the exception of a very minor amount in Topaz Photo AI. The visible difference in the image between pre-sharpening and after sharpening was quite small, so the RAW image, focused on the larger "Riva" text on the sign, was naturally quite sharp.

Posted to Flickr at full image size and res, but dumbed down to sRGB for web. I normally use e shutter, for this I used mechanical shutter (EFCS).

I thought about the Sigma 24 but to your point the GM is not that much bigger. I keep thinking about selling the 35GM and repurchasing the 24GM.

Also own the 35mm GM and it’s one of my favorite lenses. Would never sell it. I use it much more than my 24mm. I rally prefer using 35mm and 20mm f/1.8 GM and I see zero advantage for the Sigma I-series 20/2 since they really weigh the same I think.
