yes it is made from aluminum for the main body which acts as a heatsink. its not going to get that hot as it is.

update: finally came this morning. this is built extremely well, thoughtfully. it fits every current size of SSD up to 16TB. no tools needed to swap out memory. no need for additional heatsink as far as i can see from the build method. includes a silicone cover for more protection from external shock/weather. includes the USB4 cable.

my 2TB memory is coming a little late in the week. a samsung 990 2TB for now. that will grow if/as needed.
