Hi all, I am looking to upgrade my current bag { Tamrac expedition7x} and was about to pull the trigger on a Shimoda action x50, then realized, how much larger is the internal space for cameras & lenses on the shimoda vs the Tamrac? I need more space for camera& lenses, etc so I'm not sure how much more the large size ICU on the shimoda is vs the internal space on the Tamrac?

Second on Gura Gear. Very well made and they have sizes from medium to very large in backpacks.

I was just about to click on Buy Now for the Guru Gear Kiboko 16L. But then I started thinking for my needs the butterfly access was not for me and my needs. It was all about weight and distribution when out hiking. A note about Guru Gear. In all the backpacks I've tried? The zippers are the smoothest I've seen.

On that note I started looking at F-Stop again. They are having a nice sale on many of their bags. I have been looking at the Guru 25l UL since it's small and light out of the box at 2.6lbs. The only problem is, and I can't get a straight answer from F-Stop, the bag is old vs the newer bags.

Then I saw they have a brand new bag out. F-Stop Lotus 4 Core 28L. For the bag only it's only $50 more than the Guru 25L. Only 4 oz more in weight at 3lbs. But it's taller. 22.8 inches vs 19. Which has me thinking the airlines are starting to get picky about carryon's now. Now I have some thinking to do.

Has anyone used Peak Designs backpacks? I have some of their other products and love them, but wasn't sure how the backpack layouts would be on a day to day basis.

I've got my eye on that new Lotus as well, as my 10+ year old Guru is looking a bit torn and frayed (figuratively speaking), though still works perfectly. I know a lot of people don't like F-Stop (as there are now other, cheaper options out there), but you do get what you pay for, and they've refined their packs over the years to include features that I consider required if I ever buy a pack. Best warranty in the business (only had to use once for a seam failure).

I've inquired about any new UL bags from F-Stop but they said not at this time. As for the new Lotus, I just wish it was a little less high than almost 23". But at 3lbs it is lighter than most bags I've been researching. I just might have to convice the better half to let me get it when it's on sale again!
