I just got back from three days at Harrison Mills, BC. Not as many eagles as I had hoped, but still fun and a beautiful area. I heard more are predicted to arrive in a week or so. I couldn't get very close so these are crops from my A7rV (a good reason for all those pixels!) even with my Sony 200-600mm + 1.4X.

I was lucky to get this one flying directly at the viewing platform at Sandpiper Resort.

A tight 100% crop

Nice shots n.v.m. I stopped there on the way home on Friday and didn't see any eagles. After crossing the bridge I turned off on a road that took me over to a dyke and walked around a bit. Still no eagles, but I did spot a heron, but even better, a couple of otters. They were at quite a distance so I didn't get any super shots, but I quite like this tight crop.

My version of the old saw: When life gives you lemons, add a ton of sugar and make lemonade, which you did quite well.

I'm torn on my A7RV, 200-600mm as to whether I should use my 1.4x or just crop more in those situations. Juggling the pieces to put on the TC in the field is enough alone to put me off the idea (if I have my thinktank holster bag on my shoulder it makes it easier, or I have a neck strap on the lens, but I still worry about water/dirt depending on where I am), but there have been times when something is just out of reach that it does help at least get the shot. Those 61MP have saved my bacon more than I care to admit, heh.

Eagles are always great to see, you have captured some great images of them. Bruce
