Saw this over on Slickdeals. This is the best deal offered in a pre-built, fast desktop right now. Only 16GB but you can add/replace sticks and memory is really cheap these days.

MSI Codex R Desktop: i5-13400F, RTX 4060 8GB, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD $699

* Intel i5-13400F 10-Core (6P+4E) / 16-Thread Processor
* MSI PRO B760-VC WIFI Intel B760 ATX Motherboard
* 16GB (2x8GB) DDR5 5200MHz Memory
* 1TB M.2 PCIe Gen 3 NVMe Solid State Drive
* NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB Graphics Card
* WiFi 6E; Bluetooth 5.3; Wired ethernet (2.5Gbps I think)
* 80+ Gold 650W Power Supply

I got 260 GB last month same price and happy with it except it write slightly slower than Prograde. Take additional 3-4 seconds to empty the buffer after a burst. A1 doesn't allow image preview while being written. I didn't like waiting for few additional seconds. Now I'm thinking of getting another faster card

Lexar just came out with silver cards. 320gb for $380. It says 600mbps guaranteed. Pergear writes around at 400. Does anyone have the technical knowledge to quantify the difference? It's VPG-200 only. Does it mean it will write only at 200 mbps? Is it better to get

Update on Lexar SILVER card. Just got one (open box from ebay from a US individual) and it's as fast as Prograde 160gb. Prograde and Lexar empty a 150 images burst buffer less than 12 seconds. Pergear take around 16 seconds. I know it's only 4 seconds difference. But at times this can be frustrating. Anyway got it for a very good price. So keeping it.

Update on the Lexar card. CF-A 320GB arrived. Ran the Blackmagic Disk Test and it is blazing.
Nicely built - feels more solid than the Pergear card.

Updated per @LBJ2@ spotting the incorrect drive getting tested. This Lexar is still really fast.

Computer sees card as "Lexar" and confirms 320gb capacity.

Feeling pretty confident it's authentic. We'll see how it goes but so far so good.

Thanks to @liggy and @Ross Martin 🙏🏼 on this Black Friday thread alerting us to the Lexar 320GB CFExpress Type A card for sale on Aliexpress, I think I may have snagged one of the best deals this season!

I missed the Black Friday $195 too-good-to-be-true price initially, but the discount came back on Cyber Monday @ $195 for 320GB so click, click click 😎

The only difference I see is the Lexar packing is for the Asia market, the card so far seems very legit build and performance quality.

I cherry picked one of my best results for this card using the Blackmagic app (see below) and the Anglebird USBC Gen 3x2 CFE-A card reader. Even though my M1 Apple computer doesn't support USBC Gen 3x2, the Anglebird reader seems to be one of the fastest for CFE-A ( any brand) card transfers I've tried.

So far, this empty card seems to be exceeding listed transfer speed specs consistently, at least via the Blackmagic app and my computer. I formatted in my Sony A1 and will be taking it out soon to test real-world.

My Lexar cards run so much cooler in the Angelbird reader vs my Lexar reader, and the transfers are faster on my M1 MBP as well.

From my own testing, The Sony CFE-A reader is consistently the slowest, the Prograde reader is fast but really heats up the cards during operations--to very hot, maybe due to the magnet on the bottom of the reader? 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Anglebird CFE-A card reader is consistently very fast on my M1 Mac via TB4 port and seems to run relatively cool.

Same here on the Anglbird card. Fast and cool
I actually hookd it up to my new Apple Display back ports and still got like 820 writes and 790 reads. Ive tried every port with it and the same M2 Studio

Looking at the write speed, before putting the card in the camera, I'd double check on your computer if the files written to the card are intact .

So far in-camera operations are checking out/as expected. I will do more in-camera performance comparisons with my other cards soon.

That's great to hear!
I suggested checking because the write speed is above the max speed possible for current type A cards. Maybe it's a quirk of the benchmarking program .

It could be the Anglebird card reader. It seems to be one of the fastest performers I've tried. All Sony, Prograde and Anglebird CFE-A cards are able to measure faster than specs with this reader on my Mac computer.

Also, keep in mind I posted the very best scores on an empty card ( cherry picked out of several tests) These measurements ebb and flow/ up and down each time you run the test.

But, the low price on this card means I am scrutinizing much more than I normally would.

Below I test Sony and then Prograde empty 160GB CFE-A cards, Again these are the best Write scores, not an average or not the lowest.

How does it compare to the Godox flash on Sony? I have Profoto but with the ridiculous price I've been thinking about getting a Godox as a cheaper backup or secondary camera flash.

Thanks. I was on a different page, looking at the touchscreen version ($339).

I assume you are only using the Sony version. Do you have any experience with the "universal" version?
