Well if we are going to post images of our street shots, I will limit my to lenses that you can get to shoot on your Nikon Zf.

We will start with one shot with my 28mm Voigtlander f/2.0 Ultron VII (VM), on my Leica M10-P. A really good, very sharp, lens with great color, and wonderful rendering. I believe you can buy it in a z-mount also these days. I caused a bit of a traffic jamb shooting this one. I was driving to a meeting downtown when I saw this guy with the yellow basket about to cross the

Well, all the Nikon lens used for those shots can be used on ZF . Well, except for the point and shoot camera shots. I know, I wasn’t sure it was ok with OP to post images, but talking about what I shoot with what lens got me thinking, what I am writing may not make any sense without supporting images….. I am happy to remove them all if OP feels it does not suit his intent.

You can adapt just about anything to the ZF , works great, and depending on the lens can be relatively small. Lately I have been using 43screw mount, and Konica AR lenses with an adapter on the TechArt. It would be nice to see some small native mount manual lenses , but I'm sure in time they will come.

Funny how fast some of the Voigtlander, and other MF Z-mount lenses went into backorder once the ZF was on the streets.

ZF CV 40 1.4

ZF Konica AR 57 1.4

I hope you are correct that native glass with proper aperture rings and DOF engravings will come soon. I my opinion the adapters don't look that good on what is otherwise a very handsome camera body.

It's not ideal , of course native will look better , but some of these lenses look better than they will strapped to an M11. That is if looks matter to you , it doesn't bother me as much unless it's a silver lens. Don't know what I was thinking buying silver lenses.

Agree with you 100%. Only small lenses for my Leica M cameras. Yes somewhat for looks, but mostly for the shooting and carrying experience. Also only black unless it is matching one of the limited edition releases.

That huge lens, and big body don't say street to me. But retro is not all about street for many I suppose.

I'd miss a lot of street shots with an autofocus lens. If I had a ZF and I shoot street, I'd go for something like a Voigtlander 28, 35 or 40 with a focus lever. Master your shooting distance and prefocus by feel. When the right moment develops, just put the camera up to your eye and shoot. I feel that AF just slows down everything when you let the camera decide. So to answer your question, I'd go Voigtlander or even Leica mount Zeiss Sonnar with an adapter.

Kind of an interesting paradox with the Zf. It is the Nikon non stacked sensor with the best AF. Yet its style, and many of the photographers attracted to because of that style seem to favor the MF experience. This is mitigated to a degree because it probably is the current Z Nikon with the best MF experience. Maybe the best EVF/Rear Screen MF experience of any camera available today. But again irrelevant if you are a Zone Focus practitioner.

Gorgeous setup. How well does the techart perform?

Glad that Nikon seems to have nailed it with the ZF. Looks like the body only is backordered in the US (and Japan). Maybe this means less people will be inflating the X100V prices so I can pick another one up lol

That’s true, the manual focus on the Zf is just great and for street photography, it has become quicker to mf than to af.
I changed my mind, I want Nikon to make a 58mm 1.2 manual lens, no af, use an old optical formula, make it hard plastic and weather sealed with an updated design and a few scale markings.
Cut corners to go 700-800 dollars.
I’d like that.

I think X100V shortage is over , if you look at MPB or some of the other used retailers they have a ton of them available , but the price hasn't come back down to reality yet.. I suspect it will soon enough.

The Techart does well, not quite as snappy as native glass , but good enough for non sports shooting.

Nice, the X100V is a great little camera as long as it's not in used Leica Q2 range. That whisper quiet leaf shutter and tiny 35 f2 is such a fun pairing, I'll probably pick up another one
