If I recall correctly, you can contact Fringer about the lens issues you have and they are pretty responsive to making firmware updates to fix issues with specific lenses. They might be able to take care of the wonky focus issues with your 28-105mm.

In a further update if have been testing a few EF lenses with the Fringer.
The EF 50 f1.8 STM works very well on the Fringer and X-T5. I would say about as good as a native lens, though I haven't done any scientific comparisons. The EF 100 f2.8 macro USM also works quite well though this has never been a favourite of mine in terms of AF abilities.
However, the ancient EF 28-105 f3.5-4.5 USM was pretty bad, often racking backwards and forwards and settling somewhere clearly out of focus. It seems to back focus at close distances at the wide end even when locking focus and also was transmitting incorrect aperture readings, showing f2.8 was available at all ends of the zoom.
Curious about this, I then tried it on a Metabones adapter connected to my Sony A7Riii and was surprised that it focussed pretty much perfectly with that combination. In fact I am yet to come across an EF lens that doesn't perform well using the Metabones/Sony combo. I'd surmise that the Fringer firmware doesn't work well with this lens.
I also did some sharpness tests and I can happily confirm that despite the wonky AF, this ancient lens is ready for the Fuji 40mp sensor and could be put on the infamous Fuji list! Considering it is 30-year-old design, images we plenty sharp when properly focussed.
