Well, I posted that I thought they did that recently, purposefully leaking info on upcoming releases, and honestly I'd be surprised if they didn't. I'm sure the marketing dept could harness a site full of Canon shooters looking to buy new gear
Then a rumor about Canon being all mad to get more PR, crdeibility, and drive people to the site to see the stuff canon didn't want you to hear.
Can they leak if the R7II will come with a Jack Hammerless mechanical shutter? That new proposed electromagnetic tech to prevent shutter shock would be OK too.

That came to mind. Not sure they will be able to keep costs down enough by the R7II for that. I'm sure it will a better read out speed either way. So does that new Sony shoot global at 14 bit or 12 bit?
it dose not matter 1f its 12 or 14 bit because everyone knows its only 24 megapixels so its complete junk according to vast consensus of the Great unwashed.

heard from someone that a friend of his rumored that he heard that someone mentioned a rumor that it is rumored that there is a rumor that the rumor that CanoRumors is rumored to purposely leak rumors to create hype and buzz is an unsubstantiated rumor.
Rumored Source — Unnamed and Unidentified Source, maybe. Or maybe not.
On the surface of it, its free to leak info to Canon rumors whether you own it or not. So why take an ownership stake?
I suppose the reason would be to control what they leak and how they portray it. There have been a number of critical editorials there though. And on the other side of that coin, its been a fanboy site for quite some time.
Just not sure the rumor makes sense. And beyond that, that if its true it makes a difference.

While I don't think that a camera company running a rumor site is that unlikely, not sure about Canon and Canonrumors. Canon rumors has had some articles/posts over the past year that led to a lot of disappointment and I'm not sure why Canon would do that.
Not sure why Canon would send these out knowing they were incorrect and would disappoint people (who shouldn't have expected something from a rumor to be absolutely true of course)
