The Delkin Power cards are great 2nd slot cards for the Z9 for stills backup. Not the insane deal of the 1TB card from the earlier sale but a great deal nonetheless.

From all accounts, I'd be leery about using this as your primary slot card if recording video due to heat concerns.

Time of year caveat is that a possible better deal is around the corner for black friday, but no harm in buying one and sitting on in unopened for a few weeks until any better deals shake out.

Bought one this morning for my Z6 so my Z8 can use both the Delkin Black cards I bought on sale. This is a good price. We'll see if they put the 650gb on sale for Black Friday. Those are as fast as the Black cards.

I'm hoping the 650GB+ Power G4's go on sale sometime during the Black Friday sales, I've got a few things in my B&H cart and would like to sneak in a memory card. The prior deals spoiled me though, now everything else seems overpriced

I went ahead and ordered one. I'm interested in how it compares to the marked-down SanDisk cards in regards to heat. I received heat warnings pretty quick on the Z8 with the SanDisk.

Probably ok in the Z8/Z9 too if you're just doing regular shooting, no?

The Delkin Black cards run about 20 degrees C cooler than much of the competition if heat is an issue for you. You might already know that, but just in case.

I made a joke in a Sony thread today, but if you're often shooting in harsh, cold conditions, those hot cards can extend your battery life

As long as you don't need an unlimited buffer and as long as you're not shooting the highest bitrate video, the slower cards are fine up to the point that heat may become an issue (depending on application). The more basic cards give you a HE* buffer roughly around 150-200 frames (it varies) instead of unlimited, which for many people is probably fine. Nikon cameras also don't stop like others do when the buffer is full, the frame rate simply slows down to the speed at which they can write to the memory card so you aren't completely screwed if you hit a limit in the middle of a shooting sequence.

Also note that in 650GB and above capacities, the Power G4 cards have near identical performance to the Black series in terms of minimum sustained write speed. I haven't seen any good temperature testing done yet on the Power G4 cards but I imagine they aren't quite as good as the Blacks. If I had to guess, I bet the Power G4's are just Black cards that don't meet a certain spec or binning requirement.

Someone shared that with me recently, which is the only reason I do know. I'm hoping that maybe the Black cards get a Black Friday treatment. Fingers crossed.

In the past 3 years I've had heat warnings on Fujifilm XT4s and the Nikon Z cameras. No problem on the Sony FX-30 (which you wouldn't expect) or Canon R5 (which you would expect), but I'm sure my shooting conditions differed quite enough to make that a rather dubious comparison.

I was most impressed by the Fujifilm X-H2 though, which went for 45 minutes at 8k without any warning at all. I was capturing a panel of speakers, and I was able to use the same footage for framing group shots and individual punch-ins, which was pretty sweet. Anyway, I've wandered way off track now....
