I'm wondering if there will be any good discounts on the 5DMK4 before Canon depletes its remaing stock like it did with the 5DR?

I would love to buy a new 5DMK4 to use with my old EF lenses.

p.s. I have an R6 with several RF primes and an EF/RF adapter for all my EF lenses. I would simply like to get the 5DMK4.

I doubt it. It's still really popular, finishing in the top 10 at lensrentals last year, ahead of every Sony stills body. And they aren't making any more or close to it I'd guess

And how would users on a forum know about future discounts on anything? All we'd have access to are the same rumors that you do.

Maybe have a look at Canon's refurb pricing if you're not happy with current new pricing. Or, you could wait and hope and risk missing out on the last of the 5DIV's...

Did you bother to read my post? Did you notice how I started with "I wonder if..."? That is called "striking up a conversation". It is used to initiate conversations among humans. Maybe you need to spend less time on your mobile device and more time interacting with humans. It's a wonderful skill to develop. Try it some time! 😀

If Canon has a fire sale on 5D4 refurbs like they did on the 5DS, I'd buy one. It's the best and last of its kind. Nevertheless, as an official armchair pundit I thereby prophesy that 5D4 prices will remain high until stock is depleted. Buy now or forever suffer with mirrorless and camera phones.

I dunno...the "mobile devices" I spend the most time on are my R5's and 5D4. My next-most used "mobile device" is a MacBook Pro, where I work on what I did with my main mobile devices (and also read forum posts on). I don't have time for what you probably mean by "mobile devices".

A nod to Gochugogi. The 5DIV is a superb camera with which I've created a number of extraordinary images. Really can't see any reason why I should Go R! All my stuff works and I have a complete and functional set of tools.

For just a small fraction of a second, I almost regretted ordering my first mirrorless camera yesterday. Then I remembered my 6DII is 5 years old, and newer than the 5DIV. The 5Ds R dropped to something like ~$1300 or ~$1400 US for last few new ones, at B&H, but, the 5Ds R had been a slow mover, for an extended period of time, and seemed to be a largely forgotten camera, before the new-old-stock had been given that final mark-down. I bought one of those deeply discounted 5Ds R cameras, so, I remember. At that price, is seemed to good to miss, in order to have a second, spare 5Ds R camera body. The 5D Mark IV, on the other hand, still seems quite popular, if the contents of my feed of recommended you-tube videos is any indication. (Does the y.t. algorithm “know” that I still use my 5D IV? Maybe Elon Musk’s spy apparatus in the sky detected my 5D IV linking to GPS?) I am not surprised to learn that Lensrentals still rents the 5D IV.

Zero actuations I believe. I have some very good EF mount lenses 100mm IS macro; 70-300 IS 4-5.6 and a Sigma 50mm 1:1.4 DG plus a Speedlite 600EX-RT so those should go nicely with this camera.
