Once or twice a year, I find that I need to use Snapbridge's Remote Photography feature. On those occasions, I find that Snapbridge is horribly unreliable. Inevitably, the app can't connect to the camera even though it connected the last time I used it. (And the phone is physically next to the camera.) I would have to "forget" the camera (on the phone) and forget the phone (on the camera) and establish a new connection. Even then, the connection is unreliable. After 3-5 shots, the connection will have to be re-established though this time doesn't require a "forget".
(Use case. Hiking with my dog. Want to take a shot with me and the dog. Prop camera against a tree stump. Distance to camera about 15-20 feet.)
Cameras used: Z7 and Z8. IIRC also D810. Snapbridge and iOS was always the latest version.
Is this normal?
Vello wireless (2.4GHz) triggers are always reliable. Pocketwizards even more so. But, unlike my phone, I just don't carry them everyday and everywhere I go.
