Great closeup work with those skittish little guys Brian. You must have to find a spot where they land, setup, and if they fly off, wait for them to come back rather than chase them??

No I don't do either- I spot them and then slowly move towards them- I take all my shots handheld. Of course I do often scare them off without getting a shot.

Excellent photographs.
It's always interesting to see such detailed images of little critters I never see.
I'm amazed you can get a hand held macro lens close enough to get these shots without scaring them away.

Dave Getting close to them without scaring them away is part of the trade with macrophotography.
