I have a tripod ring that needs to have a new mounting screw to tighten the collar. Will involve removing broken old bolt and refitting a new one for both the insert and the knob itself. No actual damage to the ring.

Why does it have to be photography oriented? Broken screw extraction is bread and butter for any machinist worth their pay. If you are mechanically inclined you can try it yourself

IF I had a dllar for each broken screw I could buy a Nikon Z9. This is so simple. Hardest part is getting the drill started. Taking a nail and tap it with a hammer in the direction it unscrews sometimes works. I did this often to save walking to the tool crib.
