I've seen this spot on Instagram and knew it was close.
Last week took the sandy, bumpy road out here and visited myself. A bit of wind works in your favor as track erasure in the sand.
This shot is a combo of 2 images, both shots wide at 16 mm and stitched together. Getting the whole scene in is the challenge.

Great shot! I was just in that area last week and debated on getting a tour ride out there, just wasn't sure if it was worth a morning plus the cost for a single location. Do you think it's worthwhile for the tour cost?

It's a pretty cool location. I shot it from inside and also from the outside, spending about 90 minutes - 2 hours there. I found the drive up Johnson Canyon (paved) to be very scenic also and stopped to shoot from that road in some lovely places. (I'll post those in a few days). So my journey there and back out was worthwhile IMO.

What does the tour cost? Economics and time mean different things to different people depending of how much time and money you have for a particular location/experience. Kanab has lots of other options too.

I drove myself (4 Runner w/ good tires) and it cost me gas ($50 maybe) from St. George, and 10 hours of my life. For that price, I found it worthwhile and plan to return again for more shooting.

Was this Cutler Pt. outside of Kanab? Just curious as my son in law and I did a 5 day camping trip 2 years ago and Cutler was one of our destinations.

Yes this is Cutler Point. I suspect there's more to explore and hike around this location but I just did the Chamber.

We were supposed to camp overnight here but there was a problem with my son in laws Subaru and we had to be safe and get a hotel in Kanab. We got into the one chamber but not the other sadly. The climb up was fun! Two steps up one back in the soft sand! When looking at this from the ground it didn't look that big until you were actually in it. My son in law took a photo of me with him as far back as he could go and me in the entrance. I'm tiny!

Sweet shot, great way to work midday light. Nice that the wind swept any footprints away. I've spent some time around Kanab but didn't know about this. Thanks for showing it off - have to add it to the list for next time.

Just a heads up. My son in law and I "aired out" the tires a bit because we had read during our research of the deep soft sand. Good thing we did because in some places it was, imho, needed. Another thing to look out for? ORV's. We almost had a head on with one who was racing around a corner.

Looks like about $175/person, which is roughly what I paid for a White Pocket tour last year. So it's not totally out of proportion, but of course bang for buck White Pocket has a lot of opportunity for variety and creativity in photography. Is there more there to take photos of, or is it mainly just the one spot?

The road is very sandy in sections and solid in others. 2 ORV came as I was leaving, a couple of couples with a guide.

I'm not an expert on this area. I've seen Red Canyon and Inchworm Arch in photos but never visited them myself. The Kaibab and Paria Overlook are south of Kanab and that's a pretty cool location.
