I choose this hike off the Blaeberry FSR because it's short and doesn't gain much altitude. It turned out to still be a bit tricky for my 68 year old wife since it's narrow, not well maintained, and was slippery from rain. When we got to the open basin below the glacier there was a tricky log crossing of the creek that Debbie wisely didn't want to do. I had to get over there to see much so she told me I could leave her for "a few minutes". I'm afraid the fear of grizzly bears was constant after we heard about a couple who were killed in Banff NP that week.

I was only about 300 ft. away, but had to go over a small ridge to view the glacier so we couldn't see each other. I hurried to set up my tripod and get a few shots, then luckily turned around before I put the camera away to see the clouds dancing in front of the distant peaks. I was very happy with the shots, but when I got back Debbie laid down the law that I wouldn't leave her like that again on the trip.

Jim your mountain explorations just make such fine images! The glacial striations in the rock, the layered plateaus at the peaks......Just beautiful photography!

This is just a tiny slice of the incredible uncrowded mountains you can see in Canada if you are willing to research and drive the FSR roads. Good idea to get a radio to communicate with other drivers, esp. logging trucks. We didn't see any logging trucks back here though and only a few other vehicles in two days. One young couple passed us on the trail.

Great set, with #2 being truly outstanding. A big print would be gorgeous!
The clouds in #3 seem a bit overcooked to my taste.
Hiking in grizzly country is a whole different experience from any other kind of hike. I confess the only time I've done it without a significant undercurrent of fear is when I've been with an armed guide.

Thanks for the new comments guys. Photonoclast, I agree with you on the "overcooked" clouds in #3. This is a single exposure that as usual I exposed to the right but the valley was still too dark so I let the highlights go over. I tried to recover in post, but when there isn't anything there you just end up with grey blah if you take that too far, so again I let them go to pure white. As I said in the OP I was in a bit of a hurry and these last two were grab shots as I was packing up to get back to my wife
