I've seen plenty of samples image that look fine.

For example, this one from Dustin Abbott that came up in a quick Google search.

The RF 16 mm has some CA and a little low contrast in the corners. Only wide open at f/2.8 on a tiny lens. Not usable images? Beware of hyperbole. Newcomers may not remember the EF16-35/2.8L II BTW, easier to knock on that one

I haven't used the RF 16 a lot but I have some nice images from Morocco. Time will tell. I have several other lenses that require PP corrections including the 14-35 and they've all worked to my satisfaction.
