Jesus, I was going to buy it for a trip, but after looking at Marcus intro, really put me off, such a hassle to use.

The 1" sensor size appears mostly for marketing. The stills shot is "Single Shot: Approx. 9.4 MP". If that spec is true, I am assuming they did what Sony did in their high end smartphones and make a significant crop of the sensor.

Curious what this was about. I have the Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo and it's been fantastic. I hooked it to my phone during setup as I do most devices, but I never open the app when using it, it works as a standalone product really well.

This is a great question. I think it might actually be the opposite, though -- I think it's just a low-megapixel sensor with large pixels. I've filmed quite a bit with mine already and the low light performance is nothing short of astonishing, even in photo mode. Reviews show it is pretty equal to the ZV-1 II in IQ which uses the whole 1" sensor, so I don't think they are cropping in much.
