This Induro Gimbal Head is appealing in that it weighs half as much as the Wimberley WH-200 and only a few ounces more than the Wimberley Sidekick

Unfortunately I have zero experience with Indigo's product - can anybody provide real world experience with this Gimbal head or with Induro's products in general?

Thanks

i believe this item may have been discontinued. induro is a line of products that was developed in the US and built by Benro. in going to the distributer MACgroup it seems that there is a limited to tripods. anything else is now under the Benro name and still distributed by MACgroup. the GHB2 is the upper model and is now a Benro product. i could not find the GHB1

B&H has it as no longer available

This head is equivalent to a Sidekick.

I own 2 Induro tripods and 2 Induro ballheads without any regret.

If it was a full gimbal I would offer to purchase it from you.

Hope this helps.

Induro was absorbed by Benro.

induro was always made by Benro. it was "designed"/spec'd out /branded by the MACgroup people.

Temporarily On Backorder

i am getting a feeling the Induro is slowly being folded into Benro its manufacturer and the brand name will be retired. they still have a few legsets available on their site

I've owned one for several years, and it's really a fine piece of equipment. It replaced a Manfrotto gimbal, and I have no regrets. It locks up tight when needed, and pans and tilts easily.

I had an Induro GHB2. Replaced that with a Wimberley v2 that I got at a very low price. The Wimberley is a bit better than the Induro but just a bit. The Induro GHB1 is a side mount gimbal, there’s no swing arm. The GHB1 would be roughly the equivalent of a ball head with a Sidekick. Should be great for a smaller telephoto lens. Not as nice for a 600mm f4 type lens, just for mounting and dismounting the lens. A ball head with Sidekick would be more usable with normal lenses but the GHB1 might be lighter. I did have an Induro ‘sidekick’ for a while but gave it to a friend. It was very similar to my Wimberley Sidekick. Induro products I had have all been fine.
